The Story

Best time to go: October - April
Best for: Historical, First Time Visitor

Perfect for a first-time visitor to India, delve into the classic highlights of Rajasthan; marvelling at the Taj Mahal, heading out on a tiger safari, exploring the hidden side to the bustling cities of Jaipur and Udaipur, and also having time to experience Rajasthan’s magical rural heartlands. Rajasthan means ‘land of the kings’, and it certainly lives up to its name. Meander through timeless forts and palaces revealing countless colourful stories, and our guides are hand-picked to bring it all to life, totally around your interests. Rajasthan’s rural villages are awash with colour, from the sari-clad women going about their daily lives, to the blue, yellow and green turbaned men who work the fields. Striking the right balance between town and country is crucial in Rajasthan, and this itinerary lets you experience both, as well as the chance to head out on a tiger safari in Ranthambore. It is done at a leisurely pace, as Rajasthan often requires early start for trains and seeing the Taj at sunrise and some longer drives, hence the need for a few days in each location to enjoy the surroundings of the hotel, or give you more time to immerse yourself a little more in the destination through more unique experiences.

    Customise Your Itinerary

We can tweak and change any element of this itinerary and you can depart on any day you want, add nights here and there, and we can fully customise your day-to-day experiences depending on your interests. Here are just a few ideas of many that we can look at and discuss when we come to plan your tailor-made itinerary.

    Idea 1

Extend or shorten your stay in Rajasthan by adding or reducing nights to any of the destinations, or adding on the other great Rajasthani city of Jodhpur for example - everything we do can be tailored. You might not be a wildlife fan, and can simply take out the Ranthambore element and make your way directly to Jaipur following your visit to Agra.

    Idea 2

We can easily add on a beach extension to Rajasthan There are convenient flights to Goa and a range of good quality hotels. Other options include the south-coast of Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Oman or Dubai.

    Idea 3

You might like to add on other destinations in India such as the northern city of Varanasi, the hill station of Shimla or a city-break in Mumbai to end.
