You can explore Old and New Delhi within a day with a private guide. We suggest beginning in Old Delhi, the more bustling part of the city. Start at the Red Fort, constructed by Shah Jahan in the 17th century and featuring imposing 18m high red-brick walls. Hop in cycle rickshaws and wander through the bustling markets of Chandni Chowk towards the Khari Baoli bazaar, home to the largest spice market in Asia. You’ll then work your way through the alleyways to Dharampura Haveli, a place where you can have an early lunch. You’ll then take a short walk to the amazing Jama Masjid Mosque. Continue to the main Sikh temple in Delhi, the Gurudwara Bangla Sahib before exploring New Delhi’s main highlights; India Gate, Rajpath and the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Finally end at Humayun’s tomb, a pre-cursor to the Taj Mahal.
