Dahabiya Cruise: Slowly Down the Nile
Cairo - Luxor - AswanSlow travel is all about taking it easy and by taking a Dahabiya, you can discover Egypt at a gentler, more refined way.
Aswan is, in our opinion, the most beautiful of Egypt’s Nile cities. The sands of the Sahara sweep down right to the shores of the Nile. You will see countless felucca sailing boats on the water. Stay at the fantastic Old Cataract hotel for the quintessential Egyptian experience. The archaeology in Aswan largely dates from the later Ptolemaic era. It is also known as the location for the Aswan Dams. The first was opened in 1902, and the second in 1971. Lake Nasser was created as a result, and it is worth seeing this impressive manmade lake. The Temple of Philae is a must, as too the granite quarries where you can see the unfinished obelisk.
