Dwarikas Dhulkihel is located about an hour’s drive to the east of Kathmandu perched on the rim of the valley, providing superb Himalayan views over the Langtang and Everest ranges and overlooking the dramatic Kavrepalanchok Valley below. It is set within 20 acres of landscaped gardens containing apple and pine trees as well as verdant rhododendrons (which flower in March). There are a multitude of places to sit down and admire the views.
There are 36 suites with all rooms having some form of outdoor space. The resort is famous as a spa retreat (although many just come for the views and opportunity to take day talks to local villages). The Pancha Kosha Himalayan Spa has a range of spa treatments and longer-stay spa packages for those who want to stay longer. There are three restaurant options and a host of activities on offer from trying your handing at pottery, to mountain biking and treks through local villages.
There are 36 rooms are remarkably large, using a rustic and natural design yet offering all the comfort you would expect from sunken bathtubs, flatscreen TVs, mini-bar and air-conditioning. The larger Executive Suites have an even better private garden or terrace. The best room is the Royal Suite which has the most amazing views as it is located at the top of the resort. Dwarikas Dhulikhel has a range of dining options from Nature’s Flavours which draws on Nepali influences, Mako’s which is the Japanese option and the Poolside Restaurant which blends Nepali and Continental dishes. There is also a bar.
