Pashupatinath and Boudnath Stupa
Pashupatinath is Nepal’s most holy Hindu temple and one of the most important Shiva temples in the subcontinent. It is located on the banks of the Bagmati River, with ghats going down to the river. It is here that many funerals take place, cremated in pyres in the ghats. Many sadhus reside at Pashupatinath who are wandering ascetic yogis who have given up all worldly possessions. To the north of Pashupatinath is Boudnath Stupa, one of the largest of its kind in the world and are whole area is where many Tibetans live.
