Idea 1
Really jazz up the experience by taking a private helicopter to Everest Base Camp.
Explore the stunning landscapes of Nepal in a wonderfully relaxing way. You need not undertake a challenging trek to appreciate the beauty. Instead, simply unwind in a luxurious hotel while soaking up the views. So this gentle route links Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan and Dhulikhel. It blends culture, wildlife and mountain scenery, all at an easy pace. As ever, the whole journey is private and tailored to you.
Begin in Kathmandu for three nights at the beautiful Dwarika’s. So you immerse yourself in the city’s rich heritage. First, take a walking tour of the old town, then Swayambhunath. Another day, see Patan Durbar Square, then Pashupatinath and Boudhanath. Along the way, stroll the vibrant markets and marvel at the architecture.
Next, fly to Pokhara and drive up to the Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. So you spend three peaceful nights with panoramic Annapurna views. There are no fixed plans here. Instead, take a gentle walk with a resident guide. Equally, head down to the lakeside for a drink. For the active, longer day-walks lead to the World Peace Stupa or Sarangkot.
Then journey by road to Chitwan National Park, in Nepal’s southern lowlands. You stay three nights at the luxurious Kasara Resort. The park teems with over 700 species. So you look for one-horned rhino, crocodile and sloth bear. There are tigers and leopards too, though sightings are rare. You head out on morning and afternoon game drives, with the heat of the day spent at the resort.
Finally, fly back to Kathmandu and up to Dwarika’s Dhulikhel. It sits on the valley rim, with the whole Himalayan skyline beyond. So the last three nights are for relaxing. You might enjoy some soothing spa treatments. Equally, explore the medieval city of Bhaktapur. Then return to the terrace to drink in the views.
The joy of this route is its unhurried rhythm. So there is no need to rush from sight to sight. Instead, you settle into each place for several nights. Meanwhile, the option of light day-walks is always there. As a result, you return feeling refreshed and inspired.
Naturally, the hotels are a real part of the pleasure. First, Dwarika’s grounds you in Kathmandu’s heritage. Then Tiger Mountain brings the Annapurna views. At Chitwan, Kasara Resort adds jungle luxury. Finally, Dwarika’s Dhulikhel delivers serenity and spa.
Generally, spring and autumn bring the clearest mountain views. They are also the most comfortable months overall. By contrast, the monsoon brings cloud and rain. So we usually favour those windows. Either way, we advise on the ideal timing for your dates.
The whole point here is to slow down. So you stay several nights in each place. Meanwhile, the views do much of the work. There is no rush from sight to sight. Instead, you settle in and breathe. As a result, you return genuinely rested.
The valley alone could fill a holiday. So we take it gently, over three nights. First come the great stupas and Durbar Squares. Then the markets, temples and hidden corners. Meanwhile, Patan rewards a slower look. Later, Bhaktapur astonishes with its medieval streets. As a result, the culture lands without ever overwhelming.
Above all, this suits travellers who want Nepal without a trek. For example, it is ideal for those who prefer comfort to challenge. Equally, it rewards anyone craving views and calm. Couples and families both enjoy it.
The Dhulikhel days are pure relaxation. So you might enjoy a soothing spa treatment. Equally, sit on the terrace as the peaks glow. Meanwhile, an optional paragliding flight awaits the active in Pokhara. As a result, you finish feeling thoroughly refreshed.
Finally, the route flexes around you. For example, add light day-walks or extra nights. Equally, swap in a different lodge to suit. As ever, every detail is shaped to your plans.
Chitwan brings a wilder note to the trip. So the game drives are a real highlight. By jeep, elephant or boat, you look for rhino and deer. Meanwhile, the birdlife is wonderfully rich. With luck, a sloth bear may appear. Either way, the jungle feels gloriously alive.
As ever, this route is only a starting point. So we shape the pace, the hotels and the walks to suit. In the end, the trip is entirely your own.
For a first trip to Nepal, this is the kindest route. So you see the headline highlights without the hard walking. Meanwhile, the comforts are high throughout. As a result, you leave already planning to return.
Not at all. This route is built around comfort and views. So light day-walks are optional, never required.
Chitwan is rich in rhino, deer, crocodile and birds. Tigers and leopards are present but rarely seen. Even so, the game drives are a real highlight.
Generally, spring and autumn offer the clearest views. We will advise on timing for your dates.
Entirely. The pace, hotels and stops are all shaped around you. Simply share your dates and interests, and we will craft the rest.
