The View

True to its name, the View offers some of the best panoramas you can find in the Omani mountains. Situated at an altitude of 1,400 metres, the View is reached via an unmade 7.5km road. It is the perfect base from which to explore the Jebal Shams region.

There are 30 comfortable valley facing rooms at the View.  All rooms come with balconies, tea/coffee making facilities, air-conditioners (both hot and cold), TVs, and bathrooms with rain shower. The Superior Rooms have partial valley views, whereas the Premier Rooms are larger and have the finest views. The restaurants serve up both Arabic and western cuisine. There is also a delightful terrace where you enjoy your meals. The infinity pool is a welcome treat after a day of walking in the Omani mountains.

In the evening, you can kick-back beside the camp-fires which are lit and where the View becomes a more convivial affair. You will no doubt share stories of the day’s adventures with fellow guests. The slight downside is the lack of an alcohol licence. However, the sheer isolation and natural beauty more than makes up for going thirsty for a few nights.
