If you want to choose just one fort to visit in Oman, then you should consider seeing Jabrin (also spelt as Jabreen). The fort has been painstakingly restored and dates from the 17th century. There is a superb collection of weapons on display, and also interesting household items which give an indication of life in the fort. Most striking, however, are the impressive ceilings. A visit to Jabrin is complemented by also visiting Bahla Fort.
