Classic Burma and the Mergui
Mandalay - Bagan - Inle Lake - Yangon - Mergui ArchipelagoExplore the untouched islands of the Mergui Archipelago in southern Burma with the classics highlights of this amazing destination.
Explore one of the 5-day rotating markets which move around various locations around Inle Lake. The ethnic Pa-O, Danu and Intha people bring their goods to sell, and it is certainly worth wandering around the market. You will have a private boat and guide, so we can explore the lake at your own pace depending on your interests. See the traditional leg rowers making their daily catch as you skim across the waters. Stop at Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda before seeing the traditional way of life that exists around Inle. They build their houses on stilts and you will head through narrow waterways, seeing the traditional way of life on either side. Stop to see the traditional silk-weaving, blacksmiths and cheroot rollers in action. Continue to Nga Phe Kyuang Monastery, one of the oldest on the lake before seeing the floating gardens.
We arrange totally bespoke trips and design an itinerary that is designed around you. You may have seen a suggested itinerary that we can base your plans around, or we can start with a blank sheet and paper and design something from scratch. You can leave a phone number and suggest a time to call you back, and we can also arrange to do this during the evenings or at weekends if you are busy during the daytime. We can also meet up with you in you fancy a coffee and are based in and around London.
