The Detail

It takes about 20 minutes to reach Inle Princess Resort from Nyaung Shwe and is ideally situated from which to explore the surrounding area. It has long been hailed as the definitive Inle hotel, and one of the first to open, and although it is showing some signs of age, it has retained a fantastic atmosphere and service.

The 46 chalets were constructed in using ancient Inthar traditional techniques, using indigenous wood and bamboo and the finished with traditional Burmese silks. They have private balconies with amazing views over the lake and fields surrounding the hotel (some have mountain or garden views so we suggest the upgraded rooms, as this is why you come to Inle Lake!)

There is a delightful large terrace from which you can dine al fresco, or inside where you can tuck into a range of both international and Asian dishes.  They grow much of their vegetables and source all their food locally. There is also a bar next door. There is a spa which offers a range of treatments.
