The Detail
You arrive at Villa Inle by boat, about 20 minutes from the town of Nyayng Shwe. It is possibly the most boutique and intimate of the Inle Lake hotels and has just 27 villas, all overlooking the lake with superb sit-outs. The wooden villas all have high ceilings and large bathrooms with free-standing bathtub at the centre. They also have floor-to-ceiling windows to maximise the views. They are nicely furnished with local artwork and antiques of the local Inle and Shan people.
At the centre of the resort you will find the main restaurant and bar which opens out onto an inviting swimming pool. Cuisine ranges from locally inspired dishes and international fare with vegetables grown on site. There is a spa offering a range of treatments.
