Excursions around Tea Trails
When you are at Tea Trails there are so much to see and do, or just sit back and relax. You can, of course, head off on organised experiences such as visiting Nuwara Eliya, walking on Horton Plains or climbing Adam’s Peak. There are some experiences that you will not need to be pre-organise, allowing you to explore at your own pace. The Tea Experience is superb, seeing the tea pickers plucking away (you might like to have a go!). Continue to the factory where you see the tea being processed, and you’ll get to sample the produce. Tea Trails is all away lazy walks through the amazing countryside, and you can walk between the bungalows along easily sign-posted trails.
If you like cycling, Tea Trails offer complimentary bikes to head off along the shorter trails, or longer days in the surrounding hills. It goes without saying that the Tea Trails bungalows have exceptional lawns that are ideal for a spot of croquet. Head to Tientsin Bungalow for tennis on their clay court. If you are feeling active, head to Kitugala, about 75 minutes from Tea Trails for a spot of white-water rafting, offering seven class III rapids. These are some of the best you find in Sri Lanka.
