Feynan Eco Lodge is one of our favourite hotels in Jordan. It is a perfect way to experience Jordan away from the tourists who flock to Petra. You usually come to Feynan Eco Lodge on the walk from Dana Guest House, although you can just come to Feynan for a night, driving in by 4×4. There are just 26 simple en-suite rooms. All the rooms have their own private terraces with views over the countryside. The hotel does not use any electricity, except for lights in the bathroom, meaning you don’t stub your toe in the middle of night! The rest of the hotel is lit by candlelight, giving it a magical atmosphere. After dinner, head up to the roof to sip mint tea and look up at the stars.
The food is delightful at Feynan Eco Lodge, serving up sumptuous local Jordanian cuisine, drawing ingredients from nearby farms. They bake their own Arabic bread each day, known as shraak in a traditional half-moon shaped oven or saj.
You can opt for a range of interesting walks around the Dana Biosphere Reserve, and you can extend your stay should you want to be more active.
