The Detail
Jobner Bagh is a somewhat of a little secret in Jaipur, a delightful boutique retreat with just 12 rooms with a lovely rooftop terrace to kick-back and get out a good book. The big plus point are the delightful owners, Shiva and Megha who go out of their way to make you comfortable. The design is a blend of Italy and India; a clever blend of stylish yet simple design with a scattering of classy old-world furniture and calming muted colours. There is something of a 1920s art deco nod to the place. The central courtyard is often lit up by candlelight at night, and the scrummy, homely Indian food is a real delight. The rooms have all you want, with en-suite bathrooms with showers (no tubs). Although we love Jobner, do note not all the staff speak perfect English and the showers don’t always produce hot water at the first attempt – so if you are looking for that quintessential home-from-home Indian experience in Jaipur, then this is your place.
