There are countless day treks to be done around Punakha. The most popular is the Giligang Trek which combines a walk through farmland to the Khasum Chorton, up to the Giligang Temple and finishing at Punakha Dzong. For an easy downhill trek, the Nobgang Trek takes you from the high ridge above Punakha and down through villages and farmland down to the Dzong. Other options include a trek to Hokatsho, Bhutan’s largest lake (6-7 hours in total), Sewala Monastery (6-7 hours), Bjachung Karmo Nunnery (5-6 hours), Coma Hot Springs (3 hours). We can also arrange a number of treks with an element of cycling, meaning you can cover more ground. Do ask for a tailored day of adventure.
