If you want more time in Paro and want to take some interesting day walks, there are plenty of options. One option is the Sangchoki Buddhist College which houses around 105 monks aged 15-30 and has amazing views back over Paro. We suggest driving up and walking two hours back down to Paro, or to Dungtse Lhakhang. For those who love views, head off early up to the Chele Pass before walking to Kila Goemba which has 360-degree views of snow-capped peaks and has a remote nunnery (total walking of about 3.5 hours). Another option from the Chela Pass is to head down to Kyichu Lhakhang and takes about 6-7 hours. If you want to do the Tiger’s Nest Monastery trek with a twist, then you can combine it with Drukgyel Dzong, making it a full day walk and rather than walking back down, you continue up and around to reach the Dzong, offering better views. Another great day walk is to do the first day of the famous Jumolhari Trek to Lhedi Goemba and takes about 5-6 hours.
