Delhi - Agra - Jaipur -Udaipur - Cochin - Backwaters - Marari BeachYou might well feel India is a once-only holiday, and as such a combination of the highlights of north and south India might be what you are looking for.
Once the offices of a British tea-broking firm, Old Harbour has been lovingly restored and opened as a small boutique hotel right in the heart of Fort Cochin, just a hop, skip and a jump from Cochin’s famous Chinese fishing nets and the local markets. Architect Karl Damshen set to work carefully balancing the heritage aspects with the demands of the modern traveller. Rooms and Suites overlook the lovely internal courtyard featuring a lily pond complete with croaking frogs. The 13 rooms are spacious, using naturally light fabrics. Furniture has been sourced from local markets. You have both air-conditioning and colonial style fans set against hardwood floors. Lead in with the Superior Rooms, overlooking the courtyard with a shared balcony. The Garden View Rooms look over the courtyard, yet have their own balcony or Patio. The Garden Cottages feature an open-to-the-sky bathrooms with rainforest showers and overlook the pool. The Suites have either a balcony or patio, and have partial sea views. All rooms feature TVs, phones, CD-player, air-conditioning, fans and hairdryers. Note that only the Princess Suite is the only room with a bathtub. The 1788 restaurant is located in the garden, spilling out from the hotels archways, it serves up both international and Indian dishes.
