There are just ten luxury tents at Jamtara Wilderness Camp which are so wonderfully designed and furnished, all of which overlook the surrounding forest from the private sit-out. Expect to find teak flooring and hand-made furniture with an exceptionally comfortable bed to fall into after a day’s safari. The tents allow for the sides to be rolled up in the day, allowing the light and jungle to creep inside. It goes without saying that mosquito nets are installed at night, as well as a toasty hot water bottle for colder nights. If you want something super special, why not consider their ‘Star Bed’ which is built onto a traditional Machan, meaning jungle platform, built on stilts above the surrounding grassland. You then just have a four-poster bed, coated in a mosquito net and your night under the stars awaits.
Jamtara is located to the north of Pench National Park, far away from many of the other lodges that line the eastern gate, this makes for a wonderfully unspoilt safari experience without other vehicles.
