This amazing, immersive tour through the back streets of Colombo is lead by Mark Forbes, a Sri Lankan with Dutch, British and German descent. You depart at about 1530 in the afternoon and it takes around three hours. Explore the vibrant Pettah district, famous for its buzzing markets selling spices and textiles. Along the way, you will see amazing colonial architecture such as the Old Dutch Museum, dating from the 17th century, and a host of former Dutch mansions. If you want, you can stop off at local stalls to taste the street food. Continue into the commercial heart of Colombo and pass the Old Dutch Hospital, again dating from the 17th century. End at the stunning Galle Face Hotel.
