The northern peninsula of Oman, known as Musandam and is known for its dramatic steep fjords, quaint fishing villages, and opportunities to go snorkelling, kayak and swim. You can opt for a day cruise, or even better, opt for a two night cruise on either the superb Rubba Luxury Dhow Cruise, or the Zighy Bay’s very luxurious private ‘Dhahab’. Highlights include the Khor Ash Sham, the longest and most dramatic fjord. Telegraph Island is excellent for seeing dolphins. The village of Kumzar is set on the straights of Hormuz and is the most northerly inhabited town in Oman, and surrounded by towering mountains. Al Hamra Island in Khor Shisah is superb for swimming and snorkelling.
