Musandam
Musandam is in the northern peninsula of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by the United Arab Emirates, making Dubai its closest international airport. The peninsula juts out into the straights of the Persian Gulf and is known for its dramatic fjord-like sunken valleys, and high rugged mountains. There is a super beach resort at Zighy Bay, and also opportunities for dhow cruises through the fjords.
