The Detail

The Shangri-La Al Jissah is sandwiched between the craggy, rugged mountains and the azure waters of the Indian Ocean. Al Waha is perfect for families, given it guarantees interconnecting rooms and for a family wanting two rooms, it is reasonably priced.

Al Waha is about 40-50 minutes from the international airport, making it a perfect fly-and-flop beach hotel, or as a starting or endpoint of an adventure through Oman. Reflecting Omani architecture, the hotel is constructed around a luscious palm-filled pool and garden area. The rooms are contemporary in style, with good en-suite bathrooms with both bathtubs and showers. There are some 15 restaurants and bars to choose from, and you can make use of those in the neighbouring Al Bandar Hotel. There are activities galore here, and children love the Adventure Zone, Splash Pad, Lazy River, and the Omani Heritage Village.
