The Pavilions Himalayas is located just outside of Pokhara along the Fusre Khosi Valley surrounded by verdant hillsides, terraced rice paddies and farmland. Designed with sustainability and luxury in mind, the hotel very much works with the local community both employing from the villages surrounding the hotel, but also donating proceeds to local charitable work. They rely on solar energy, harvesting rainwater, using biodegradable toiletries and sourcing food from its own organic farm.
The construction of the luxury villas continues along this eco-friendly vein, properly insulating them so they are cool in the summer and warm in the winter months. The villas are delightful, using traditional wooden floors set against exposed stone-cut brickwork and high-beamed arched ceilings alongside floor to ceiling picture-windows looking out over the rolling countryside. All have lovely little fireplaces and delicate use of local fixtures and fittings. All have private terraces, with the larger villas (Grand and Chalet) having living areas. Finally the more rustic Gaun Ghar is a five minute walk through the grounds and is ideal for families.
At the centre of the resort you find the main Clubhouse which opens out onto the main pool area where drinks are served. There is also a delightful spa which is ideal if you are having some well deserved post trek R&R.
