Wadi Mujib Siq Trail
Wadi Mujib contains a series of canyons and is located close to the Dead Sea Jordan. The canyons are filled with shallow waters. The trail (about 1-2 hours) takes your from Mujib Bridge, over a cantilevered walkway and following the course of the river between towering sandstone cliffs to the base of a large waterfall. Depending on seasonal rainfall levels, the gorge may contain pools deep enough for swimming. A lifejacket is compulsory, and this trail is not for the faint-hearted – you will get very wet. It’s also best to bring a dry bag for your phone and camera. The water generally ranges from ankle-deep or at its extreme, up to your waist. After about an hour you arrive at a roped section. At this point, you can always turn back. The rope allows you to get through the white-water. The water is now above your waist, and you will need to swim at times. You have then reached the waterfall and simply let go and float back.
