Shakti Village Walks Kumaon
The walks around the Shakti Village Houses are an absolute delight. As the houses are always taken exclusively, you simply don’t see other tourists ensuring you have the destination very much to yourself. The walking isn’t so tough, but can be adapted to suit whatever level of activity you want. Specific experiences on the walk include seeing the Jageshwar Temple Complex, dating from the 8th century, visiting a local school, and seeing a traditional water powered flour mill, or ghatt as it known locally. It is mostly about being away from it all, stopping for amazing picnics in dramatic locations and seeing local life in all its colour right in front of you as you walk through this amazing corner of India.
