Slowly down the Ganges – Holy India
Calcutta - Patna - Ganges River - Varanasi - DelhiDrift slowly down the Ganges right in the heart of this magical corner of spiritual India, from Varanasi to Patna.
A visit to the Rajbari Bawali is like going back in time, to the age of Zamindars who ruled over vast swathes of Bengal and lived the high life in palatial pads. After independence, the Rajbari fell into disrepair and has now been restored to its former glory. Architects were consulted from far and wide, and the result is a lovely mix of old and new. There are just 30 rooms and suites at Rajbari, and all boast antique furniture, yet with modern additions such as flatscreen TVs and indulgent power showers. There is a lovely spa at the Rajbari offering a range of treatments. The delight of the Rajbari is the chance to explore the local villages that surround it. You can see the charming rural Indian way of life all around you. For the more active, hop on bikes to explore a little bit more. As you are only an hour from Calcutta, you can easily dip in for the day and return back to you palatial pad at night!
We arrange totally bespoke trips and design an itinerary that is designed around you. You may have seen a suggested itinerary that we can base your plans around, or we can start with a blank sheet and paper and design something from scratch. You can leave a phone number and suggest a time to call you back, and we can also arrange to do this during the evenings or at weekends if you are busy during the daytime. We can also meet up with you in you fancy a coffee and are based in and around London.
