- Really comfortable wildlife lodge located close to Tadoba National Park, one of India’s more up and coming places to see tiger in the wild
- Just two hours drive south of Nagpur, which has flights to most parts of India, so easy to use Tadoba as a post-tour wildlife experience
The Detail
Tadoba is one of India’s lesser known parks, and as such it gets far fewer tourists than its more well known sanctuaries such as Ranthambore, Bandhavagarh, Kanha and Pench. This makes for an exceptional wildlife experience. Until recently the accommodation was pretty poor, but that all changed with the opening of Svasara, a 12 suite lodge located a hop, skip and a jump from the main Kolara Gate into Tadoba and is set within ten acres of grounds. It is also only two hours south of Nagpur, with its many flight options, and can also be easily combined with Pench National Park. All rooms are air-conditioned, furnished simply with modern en-suite bathrooms and a lovely veranda. Meals blend Indian and international dishes, but unfortunately the whole area has banned the consumption of alcohol. Safaris take place in the early mornings and late afternoon.
