The Detail

Key Points

What makes the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa so unique? Firstly, it is away from everything. The resort is about 400kms south of the Maldives’ capital, Male. You get here by an hour’s domestic flight, then a 30-minute speedboat transfer. The massive plus point is the Park’s Hyatt’s remote location. There aren’t any other islands in view. So you get that sense of being away from it all, right in the middle of the ocean.

Secondly, the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has one of the best house reefs. The snorkelling is fantastic, and above all, the diving is probably the best you find in the Maldives. The Park Hyatt receives so many repeat guests, a testament to how excellent the location is. Thirdly, the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa has an excellent eco-friendly feel – something you appreciate when you see the natural beauty around you. Finally, the villas, cuisine and service are undoubtedly world-class.

Rooms

There are just 50 villas at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. That said, it still takes 15 minutes to walk around the island, so it doesn’t feel too small. The entry-level Park Villas are extensive, offering 165m² of space and feature lovely floor-to-ceiling windows. At the back, you find an outdoor terrazzo bathtub and rain shower. At the front, you have your private deck with a table and chairs, a day bed and two sunbeds. This leads out onto the wonderful beach. The larger Park Pool Villas are similar, with a plunge pool to cool off. Finally, the Deluxe Park Pool Villas have a far larger private pool, complete with semi-submerged sun beds and an outdoor cabana.

The over-water Park Water Villas feature lovely 180-degree views from the floor-to-ceiling windows. In addition, you have direct access to the house reef. The Park Sunset Ocean Pool Villas are also over-water and feature a plunge pool. Finally, the 2 Bedroom Park Pool Villa is ideal for families with your pool and a second room with twin beds for your children.

Dining

There are three restaurants at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. The open-air Dining Room is next to the infinity pool with views over the ocean. Here you can enjoy a wide range of international dishes. The Island Grill specialises in unique BBQ dishes features wood fire-grilled local seafood. We love that the tables are set up on the sand, giving it a lovely informal feel. The over-water Koi @ Drift specialises in Sushi, Sashimi and grilled Japanese dining. There is a bar located next to the pool, and you can also order bar snacks and light dishes. You can also enjoy wonderful private dining experiences. For example, you could opt for dinner on the beach, a starlight dinner on the rooftop. In-villa dining is also popular. Many guests opt for the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa’s all-inclusive option, which includes dine-around, meaning you aren’t restricted to the main restaurant, which is the norm for other resorts in the Maldives.

Facilities

There is a wide range of facilities at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. There is a superb spa, gym, yoga pavilions, PADI dive centre, two pools, library, island-wide WiFi and boutique.

Millis Potter Insight

Firstly, it has to be said that the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa is superb. If you love diving and snorkelling, it offers some of the best in the Maldives. Furthermore, this is because the island is located on the remote Huvadhoo Atoll – 400kms south of Male. The atolls close to Male have islands that are much closer together, meaning you lose that ‘middle of the ocean feel’. Here, you are 14kms from the nearest island – pure bliss. Not a single tree was taken down building the resort, and the eco-friendly ethos is a lovely touch. You have a perfect blend of relaxing barefoot luxury with stylish chic in the villas and facilities. Finally, with the support of Hyatt, you have world-class cuisine and service.
