The Detail
Escape into the wild in comfort with Noel Rodrigo, who has been tracking leopards in Yala National Park for over 35 years. He wanted to share his love of this beautiful area and set up this no permanent camp in 2006 just on the outskirts of the park. The customised South African tents come with king size beds and private bathrooms and allow you to be as close to nature as possible. You eat delicious food al fresco around the fire and take early morning and evening game drives to spot leopards and many other indigenous Sri Lankan wildlife.
Millis Potter Insight
Noel’s passion for wildlife and hospitality combine perfectly in this unique camp to make it ideal for couples or families looking for an off the beaten track experience. Although you are sleeping in tents and do need a sense of adventure to get the most out of your stay, they are extremely comfortable with real beds and private bathrooms and falling asleep with the sounds of nature all around is incredible. The rates include all food, drinks and activities and the nature guides are expert at spotting the wildlife. The camp is eco friendly and part of the Wildlife Conservation Trust so you feel that you can enjoy an amazing wildlife experience whilst helping preserve this unique environment.
