Kahani Paradise

Kahani Paradise is located close to the town of Gokarna, tucked into the hillside is overlooking the Indian Ocean. The property is about 3.5 hours drive south from Goa, and 4.5 hours from Mangalore, so do be prepared for a longish transfer to get there. You can also easily combine it with Hampi in Karnataka too (about a 6-7 hour drive), therefore making for an interesting part of a longer itinerary. There is a train station here, linking it with many destinations to the north or south.

Gokarna became famous for its wonderful beaches, and welcome quietness compared with that of Goa to the north. You have countless things to do by day; from exploring temples to visiting small markets. Many come here just to put their feet up and feel you are totally away from it all. It’s one of India’s most spell-binding secrets!

Kahani is set within 20 acres of gorgeous gardens, forests and rolling farmland, with views over the Indian Ocean beyond. Here you find coconut, betelnut and banana trees. There are just six suites at Kahani, all with outdoor sitting areas and large floor-to-ceiling windows, offering superb views over forests and the sea beyond. Each of the six stylishly-designed suites are differently themed, such as the Blue Suite, drawing in themes of the Ocean, or the Green Suite, reflecting the greenery of the surrounding forest.

Two of the suites, the Elephant and Peacock Suites, are located away from the main villa and are perfect to be taken by a larger family wanting more privacy. The top suite is the Panoramic Suite for its fantastic views and the Palace Suite with its sweeping arches and stunning interior architecture. In all rooms, you find air-conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi, luxury toiletries, safety deposit box, hairdryer, and a small fridge. 

Dining is taken in the only restaurant, drawing on ingredients from Kahani’s garden or nearby organic market. The rates include breakfast and dinner. There is a superb main infinity swimming pool. The yoga and open-air massage rooms are quieter reflective spots, in keeping with those who want a true wellness holiday.

Experiences include walks to the local beaches (about a 6 minute walk away), nature walks in the forest, relaxing on your terrace, setting off with local fisherman in boats, visiting the superb ‘Thursday’ market in Gokarna, or having drinks in their secluded (and secret) ‘Hideout’.
