Hpa-An Lodge is dramatically located right under Mount Zwekabin about a four hour drive from Yangon. It is a perfect stop off on the way to Golden Rock or Mawlamyine, but could very well be seen as a destination in its own right. This part of Burma is awash with immersive experiences such as trekking, canoeing down rivers or cycling through rural villages.
The 18 individual cottages are set within the landscaped grounds and made of teak. They have deightful sit-outs adorned with comfy cushions produced in local villages. Inside you get a nice blend of teak and white and orange-clad walls. The bathrooms feature a walk-in rainforest shower. There are two Family Cottages each with three bedrooms. WiFi is available.
There is an infinity pool at Hpa-An lodge with sun-loungers and a terrace where you can order drinks and snacks. The restaurant is excellent and serves a mixture of International and Burmese dishes.
