Flame of the Forest

Flame of the Forest is run by husband and wife team, Karan and Isabelle. Karan is one of the nest naturalists you find in India with an insatiable passion for wildlife. His stories and knowledge is simply incredible. Isabelle is a yoga expert from Switzerland, and together they make such a hospitable team who will look after you so personally. The lodge has just four luxury cottages, so it feels so exceptionally intimate. The cottages are designed using local techniques, topped in thatch and each having a delightful outdoor deck with views over the nearby river.  Inside they are simply, yet comfortably furnished, with slate flooring and a large four poster bed. Outside you have a lovely machan, or outdoor bed which is great to read a book in between game drives. Dinners are often prepared al fresco under the stars, tucking into authentic Indian cuisine sourced locally.
