Salalah is known for its white sandy beaches, and unlike anywhere else in the Middle East, has a summer monsoon which blows cool, wet air off the Indian Ocean (known as the khareef), turning the countryside lush and green. This does mean an element of rain, so visiting just after this from September onwards is perfect. The beaches in Salalah are better than you find in Muscat, Dubai or the UAE. It is more like think some of the Indian Ocean beach destinations as a comparison.
The Anantara Salalah has 136 rooms, opt for either one of their 40 large deluxe rooms with either sea or garden views. Alternatively, opt for one of their one, two, and three-bedroom villas, 88 of which have their own private pool.
Culinary experiences at Anantara Salalah complement the luxury of the surroundings. These include marinated barbecue dishes at the Mediterranean beach bar, international classics at Sakalan, and Asian specialties at Mekong.
The facilities at the Anantara Al Baleed Resort Salalah are superb. Opt for diving, tennis, an amazing spa with Hamman, or yoga. Salalah also offers the chance to get off-the-beaten-track into the Empty Quarter.
