Satpura Wildlife Safaris
Satpura offers 4×4 game drives, elephant safaris, nature walks, boat safaris and canoeing; something totally unique in Indian wildlife parks where you are generally restricted to game drives on 4×4 jeeps. Satpura is an amalgamation of Panchmari, Bori, and Madai Sanctuaries and is characterised by a thick dry-deciduous forests, rolling hills and large rivers and water bodies – a perfect home for wildlife to thrive. It is home to the tiger, but sightings aren’t as good as other parks in Central India such as Pench, Bandhavgarh or Kanha. Other mammals seen are leopard, wild dog, sloth bear, Indian gaur, sambar deer, boar, cheetal and langoor monkey. If you are really lucky, you might spot hyena, flying squirrel and porcupine. The Denwa River makes for a superb habitat for birdlife.
