Mahabalipuram

Mahabalipuram was an ancient seaport dating from the 1st Century BC and features stunning rock-cut monolithic temples, mostly constructed in the 7th Century AD at the height of the Pallava Kings’ power. The most famous of which is the Shore Temple, located right by the beach. The Pancha Rathas are a collection of temples, excavated by the British  and are another superb example of the craftsmanship that went into carve these amazing temples.
