Gangtey Goenpa Monastery
The Gangtey Goenpa Monastery dates from the 16th century and stands on a hilltop at the top of the village overlooking the valley. It is said that when the migratory black-neck cranes arrive in November, they fly around the monastery three times before setting down in the valley. When they leave in March, they do the same. The Black-Neck Crane Festival in November is certainly worth including if you are travelling to Bhutan around those dates.
