The Detail

Elegant and sophisticated, the Samode Safari Lodge makes for a fantastic wildlife experience in Bandhavgarh with all the facilities you would want. Take the two central lodges where you find a swimming pool, gym, spa, library and even a billiard table. The twelve air-conditioned cottages are set within 22 acres of grounds, each with a delightful veranda. The bathrooms are vast, with their own standalone bathtub and walk-in rainforest shower, and on top of that you have an outdoor bathroom. They have their own sitting room, flatscreen TV, Lavazza coffee maker and iPod dock. Indulgent we know, but this is all complemented by the decor, a blend of African style safari touches like leather trunks and tribal masks and local Indian handicrafts and touches. The result is rather lovely in our opinion. Meals are delightful, with the highlight being dinners set up around various locations around the property.
