Calcutta & North East India

Calcutta is often view by Indiaphiles such as us, as their favourite city in India. The architecture is sublime, from the colonial British building left behind, to the maze of small bustling streets and vibrant art scene. Days can be spent just walking around, immersing yourself in the culture and traditions. Move north and you find the British hill station of Darjeeling, which as the name suggests is surrounding by lush green tea plantations set under snow-capped Himalayan peaks. To the north, and the trekking and views gets even better in Sikkim, a timeless former Buddhist Kingdom that in untouched by modern life. Across to the north-east, you find the mighty Brahmaputra River, where we can offer river cruises. For wildlife lovers, we can include a visit to Kazaranga National Park, home to the one-horned rhino.
